Gun Cabinet Plans
When building a gun cabinet you will need to consider that the cabinet has plenty of room for all the guns you want to display. A gun cabinet not only allows you to show off your gun collection but it keeps them under lock and key so that children are unable to get to the deadly firearms. This gun cabinet succeeds on all counts.
This project calls for cherry wood and cherry plywood. The long arms are stood in the upper case and pistols are displayed in the lower case of the cabinet. Two drawers are located below the pistol display for ample storage of ammunition and miscellaneous items. The upper and lower cases are lighted with 20-watt, low-voltage halogen lamps; the moldings, hardware and proportions all suggest refinement, not merely storage. The glazing is impact-resistant acrylic sheet. For security reasons both the upper and lower doors are equipped with locks, as are the drawers.
If you have advanced wood working skills this project is for you. Feel good knowing that you have built a beautiful piece of furniture to display you're fire arm collection, plus peace of mind knowing they are locked away from young and curious minds.
