Any kitchen can make good use of a canister. Canisters are great for storing cookies, sugar, flour, candy or whatever you want them to store and they look great sitting out on the kitchen counter too.

This is a plan for a popular style wooden canister or cookie jar you can build in one weekend. The actual directions are for a single canister 5½ in by 6¼ in by 8 in tall. And you can vary the dimensions to make a lovely wooden kitchen canister set. A nice hardwood is recommended for this project such as Rock Maple or Rosewood.

This is a truly easy project that is fun to build and a great plan to get kids involved in. Enjoy building a great looking canister or cookie jar for your kitchen. Also would make an awesome gift.
